However, there is one thing they share in common: the time when you should visit them. So, let us show you what the best time to visit an African safari is:
When Should You Go?
The dry season starts in June and lasts for a few months before ending in October. During this period, the safaris in East Africa get to see a lot of visitors coming from all parts of the world. The reason why the visitors come during this period is likely due to the great weather and also for a chance to spot the wildebeest migration from Tanzania to Kenya, which can truly be a wonder to behold.
The rainy season, or the ‘short rains’ season, starts in November. During this period, the mornings can be really cloudy, and the afternoons could also see some rainfall. During the short rains season, you might also get the chance to see a lot of migrant birds returning from the northern hemisphere. This time is perfect for spotting newborn animals, as well as a lot more predators. The later months of this season (March-May) can be particularly rainy, so you might want to really consider visiting the safari during those months. But, one good thing about this time is that there are a lot fewer visitors. Fewer people also mean more time for you to enjoy the wonders of nature. As you can see planning this trip can be a little difficult. Some might think: ”Is it all worth it?” Here’s what else you can experience besides the wildebeest migration:
What You Can Experience When You Get There
One of the reasons why people want to get on a safari trip is so they can experience the African wildlife. You can see all sorts of carnivores like lions and cheetahs. And, you might also see a lot of herbivores like elephants and zebras. Not to mention the reptiles, birds, and many of the other animal species that are in Africa. Traveling around via land or air can be particularly fun as well. You can travel on land via a safari car or jeep. As for air travel, planes and hot air balloons might give you the experience to remember.
