What’s a Typical Day on the Safari Like?
January 7th, 2022By Native Africa Trails
A typical day on the safari is different from a typical day anywhere else. You get to dedicate your entire day to viewing different types of wild animals.
Game viewing can be a lot of fun. Both mornings and afternoons could be spent seeing how animals act with one another. And, you can also breathe in the scenic beauties of African nature.
However, you have to keep in mind that not all days on an African safari are the same. Some are vastly different from others. It also depends on the type of safari adventure you want to embark on.
However, generally speaking, is there a way to describe a typical day on the safari? Let’s take a look at what else this adventure has in store for you:
Most safari mornings start with an early game drive. Before heading off on this drive you might enjoy some coffee, tea, or biscuits.
Some people might hate the idea that they have to get up early in the morning to go for a drive. But remember, you came to have the adventure of a lifetime. And taking in nature during the morning is part of that adventure.
Some animals are really active during this time. After a couple of hours of driving and looking at the wildlife, you can head back to camp for some breakfast.
After that, you can end your morning by relaxing at camp for a couple of hours, waiting for what comes next.
Lunch and Afternoon
Lunch and afternoon in a safari will depend greatly on how hot or cold the day gets. Luckily, even if you don’t get a chance to look at the wildlife during this time, you won’t miss a lot.
As we mentioned earlier, most animals are very active during the mornings. That’s when you might get the chance to see a ton of wildlife.
Depending on your safari adventure, this time can either be spent doing a ton of activities or staying at camp where you can read a book while you’re facing the beautiful scenery ahead.
You might even go for a short walk around camp or catch up on some sleep.
This time can be different in a lot of ways. And. that’s part of the fun of this adventure.
The evening could set you out on another game drive. Some animals might start to become active again during this time, particularly the nocturnal ones.
Just as the evening is about to set, you might witness the beautiful sunset on the safari. And, depending on the night, there might be a ton of activities still left for you to experience.
Afterward, you can head back to camp and enjoy a nice evening meal. You can then head to bed and rest.
Tomorrow is a brand new part of your adventure.
